"The Sponge Who Could Fly" (Double-length episode)
Patchy the Pirate goes on a hunt to find the lost SpongeBob episode that he lost (got that?). And when he finds it, we all get to watch as SpongeBob follows his dream to develop a flying machine so he can fly with the jellyfish. It's a double episode so heartwarming, even a tough pirate like Patchy gets misty-eyed.
"Plankton" It's another evil scheme by that schemer of evil, Plankton. This time the microscopic miscreant takes control of SpongeBob's brain in order to get him to divulge the secret krabby patty formula! But it might take more than a trip right to the source to get SpongeBob talking.
"Boating School" Test time at Mrs. Puff's Boating School means another chance for SpongeBob to ace the boat driving exam. To assure a passing score, SpongeBob and Patrick come up with a plan: plant a walkie-talkie in SpongeBob's head so Patrick can direct him from afar. Great idea. Until SpongeBob realizes it's cheating!
"Suds" SpongeBob turns into a sneezing, sniffling mess when he comes down with a case of the dreaded 'Suds'. When SpongeBob tells Patrick that Sandy's on her way to take him to the doctor, Patrick tries to convince SpongeBob not to go because of the horrible fate that awaits him in the doctor's office - like old magazines!
"Mermaidman And Barnacleboy II" SpongeBob wins The Conch Signal from his favorite TV show, "The Adventures of Mermaidman and Barnacleboy!" Now he can summon his heroes any time he's got an emergency. But not being able to reach a book or open a mayonnaise jar might not be the kind of emergencies Mermaidman and Barnacleboy had in mind.
"The Chaperone" When Mr. Krab's daughter Pearl is stood up for her prom, it's SpongeBob to the rescue. Giving himself a makeover, SpongeBob becomes her 'tall, dark and handsome' date.

Democratic Delusions: The Initiative Process in America by Richard J. Ellis, ISBN 0700611568
It is becoming common in many states: citizens seizing the opportunity to reclaim government from politicians by signing a petition to put an initiative on the ballot and then voting on it. During the past decade alone, Americans voted on nearly 500 statewide initiatives. Particularly in the West, direct legislation increasingly defines and dominates the political agenda.
Although this may appear to be democracy in action, Richard Ellis warns us that the initiative process may be putting democracy at risk. In Democratic Delusions he offers a critical analysis of the statewide initiative process in the United States, challenging readers to look beyond populist rhetoric and face political reality.
Through engaging prose and illuminating anecdotes, Ellis shows readers the "dark side" of direct democracy -- specifically the undemocratic consequences that result from relying too heavily on the initiative process. He provides historical context to the development of initiatives -- from their...
